Please join us for our very first outdoor tour of an urban stormwater project! Thermo Fisher, winner of the 2015 Eugene Mayor’s Bold Steps Award, partnered with LTWC to install an innovative stormwater retention pond. At 20,000 square feet, the facility treats runoff from nearly one acre and reduces pollutants from reaching Amazon Creek. Urban stormwater improvement projects like these are part of our growing Urban Waters & Wildlife Program. Learn more about opportunities to improve the health of the Long Tom Watershed’s urban area. Thermo Fisher is private property and normally a closed campus, so don’t miss this opportunity!

Speakers:

  • Allen Hall, Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician at Thermo Fisher
  • Stephanie Scafa, City of Eugene Waste Prevention and Green Building Analyst
  • Therese Walch, City of Eugene Water Resources Manager
  • Sarah Whitney, LTWC Urban Waters & Wildlife Program Manager and Landscape Architect for this project
