Employee Stewardship Groups

Glory Bee at Gray property
The folks from Glory Bee Foods after a hard
day’s work! This unBEElievable team mulched
over 300 trees and put protective tubes
around numerous oak saplings.

LTWC will assist businesses in building and motivating groups of employees that seek to provide local fish and wildlife habitat stewardship. LTWC provides education about the watershed as well as opportunities to take action. LTWC will help groups select and implement up to two projects per year, and LTWC will work with businesses to inform the public of their goodwill and the positive impact they have on the community.

Why wait go to the river, forest or wetland to get to nature? We can help you create and foster the environment from your own place of business.

We will:

  • Provide educational brown bag lunch events/tours.
  • Work with you to identify volunteer opportunities in your landscape, then develop and foster them with you. Or place you on one of our habitat enhancement sites around town!
  • Run at least 2 events for your group/year. Have more than you can handle? We can bring sister groups to help you out!
  • Help you to spread the word about town re: the good work you are doing to be watershed champions.

Long Tom Watershed Council recognizes that each group and event will be different, and some topics may be more or less relevant, depending on your group’s interests and goals. Our goal is to make sure your stewardship program is relevant and memorable to your employees and your company.

As an employee steward you could:

  • Help a partner site care for their Trout Friendly Landscape that benefits Cutthroat trout, and many other native plants and animals.
  • Perform a long term project such as planting a pollinator garden and check-up visits to your site every few months to  see how things are growing.
  • Perform simple maintenance tasks such as invasive weed-pulling.
  • Take pride in restoring watershed habitat!
