The Long Tom Watershed Assessment provides a thorough scientific framework and important educational reference of current and historical conditions in the watershed. The assessment is an excellent resource for anyone interested in water quality data or the physical, biological and cultural landscapes of the watershed. The information was collected over a year-and-half span circa 2000. Data collected during this assessment is still relevant and used today by the Council and others in the scientific community. The results of this data help us identify and prioritize habitat types for restoration and enhancement as well as understand which species of native fish and wildlife will benefit from restoration.
