This year-long Tribal Partnership module series is designed in partnership with local Native organization, Live Oak Consulting. So far this year, UWSN employees from all six organizations have participated in four modules to learn about Native law, conservation, and decolonizing practices. The next phase will include six hands-on workshops led and facilitated by Native people and will center Indigenous Land Management Practices, emphasizing waterways, foodways, and fire. These learning modules are designed to bring UWSN organizations and Native people together on the landscape to build a shared understanding and are being planned with input of Willamette Valley Tribal and other local Native advisors.

UWSN is providing eight scholarships for local Native people to participate in these learning modules. Scholarships will include participation in all six field workshops as well as $1,000 to cover travel and other associated costs. The six modules will take place on Thursdays, June through November 2021.

We encourage any interested local Tribal member and Indigenous person  to apply for this scholarship by filling out this short Google Form by May 31.

Feel free to direct any questions to Sydney Nilan (sydney at upperwillamette dot org).

We want to thank all the Native and Tribal partners who have provided input on these workshops and are helping to make this opportunity possible!
